About the Boilermaker 15K Race

In 1978, the Boilermaker began as a 15K road race with 876 runners, created to celebrate founding sponsor Utica Boiler's 50th anniversary. Today, it is a week long extravaganza drawing over 20,000 runners, spectators, and volunteers.

The Boilermaker is always run on the second Sunday of July. The date for the 2024 Boilermaker Road Race is Sunday, July 14, 2024. The 5K Race starts at 7:15 AM, the Wheelchair Race starts at 7:45 AM, and the 15K Race starts at 8 AM.
